The Consultation and Training Center (CTC) at GJU in cooperation with Na'our Youth Center organized a workshop for the local community about civil and political rights and citizenship to help them become familiar with their rights and duties.

 

Mr. Adel Hawatmeh , Lecturer at GJU, covered all concepts of civil and political rights , that have been in existence since the times of ancient civilizations and cultures.

 

He explained that civil and political rights are a class of rights that protect Jordanian individuals freedom from infringement by goverments and private organizations, and ensures awareness about the civil and political life of the country.

 

He also pointed out that the development of  Jordanian rights and duties and citizenship is a main part of the Jordanian Constitution.

 

On his side, Mr. Hisham Hawamdeh , Director of Na'our Youth Center,  emphasized that the cooperation with GJU contributes to developing  and supporting the Center’s programs and refining youth socially.

 

At the end of the workshop, around 125 participants from the local community -Na’our and Madaba– got certificates in English for successfully completing the course.
