On Monday, May 12, 2014 Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, GJU President, inaugurated the Open Day at GJU campus , which included the fourth GJU Job Fair, in which a wide spectrum of national and international companies participated, in addition to various activities and presentations organized by GJU’ Schools.
The event took place in the frame of the initiative of the German Weeks 2014, which was launched by the German embassy. The German Weeks present samples of the arts, politics, cuisine, technology, business and education from many German organizations operating in Jordan, and their impact here in the country.
Prof. Abu Obeid praised the initiative of the German Weeks 2104, as it provides a plat form for intensive cross-culture and educational interaction, and constructive cooperation.
He further added that GJU represents a unique model of higher education not only in Jordan, but also in the whole region.
He finally thanked the German embassy under the leadership of his Excellency, Mr. Ralph Tarraf the German Ambassador, for the great initiative of the German Weeks and appreciated the Ambassador’s support of GJU.
For her part, Dr. Ines Gessner, Deputy Head of Mission representing the German Ambassador, expressed her happiness of the remarkable development of GJU recently, stressing on the importance of the German-Jordanian cooperation in the economic, cultural and educational field, which is also reflected in the various activites of the German weeks.
The GJU Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Anton Mangstl, said that such events demonstrate GJU’s achievments and show the positive interaction between the German and Jordanian students and are also important to stay in touch with the local industry.
At the end of the opening, the guests took a tour to the companies and educational exhibitions, which were organized by the university's schools and academic departments and visited the booths of the German Partner Universities and different student clubs.
