The President of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Prof. Dr. Margret Wintermantel visited GJU on Tuesday, 13 May, 2014. The visit aimed atexploring the university’s profile and education process, and strengthening the academic and scientific collaboration between the two parties.
Prof. Abu Obeid gave a brief about the latest developments and achievements of GJU, its coming plans, programs and projects in supporting the entrepreneurship and creativity of students, pointing out to the most challenges the university faces.
He also outlined the successful partnership between GJU and German organizations that would also reflect the deepness of the bilateral-relations between the German and Jordanian governments.
On her side, Prof. Dr. Wintermantel expressed her pleasure to visit GJU and stressed that this visit has an essential role in achieving further development and overcoming the challenges that the students face during their exchange year in Germany.
She also assured on the importance of GJU as a unique and successful applied sciences university, which represents a cultural bridge between Jordan and Germany, adding that the DAAD’s support for GJU and its future projects and programs would never stop.
During the meeting that was attended by the Vice President of GJU, The GJU Vice President for International Affairs, the Deans of the Schools, and some directors as well as some students and graduates, a round table discussion was held, answering questions about DAAD scholarships also suggesting various ideas that might improve the exchange year experience.
