The German Jordanian University and Jordan Insurance Federation signed a cooperation agreement aiming at enhancing the partnership among both parties by establishing the German Jordanian Centre for Insurance, on Thursday 5 June, 2014.
Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid, GJU President, and Mr. Othman Bedeir, the Chairman of the Federation signed the agreement, which touched on establishing the ((German Jordanian Insurance Centre)) to be subsidiary to the university and connected to the Federation in order to provide the local, Arab, and international market with the distinctive competencies in the insurance industry field.
The agreement tackled two main points; the centre shall provide all training and consultation services and studies related to insurance sector, and award training certificates in various areas of insurance.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Abu.Obeid expressed his pride of this partnership with JOIF, and thanked Mr.Bdeir for his support to GJU.
He further emphasized that the centre will be the nucleus of establishing an institute in the future that provides academic programs to the whole society.
For his part, Mr.Bdeir, expressed his utmost delight for signing the agreement with a distinguished university like GJU, saying that the centre will be very successful nationally and internationally.
It is worth mentioning that the signing ceremony was attended by the GJU Vice President, the GJU Vice President for International Affairs, some Deans and Directors, as well as representatives from JOIF.
