The German Jordanian University had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the European University Association (EUA), on Sunday 8th June, 2014.The visit of EUA was organized in respect to the invitation of GJU President and the desire of exploring the university and its educational approach.

 

Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid greeted the guests and shared with theminformation about the structure of GJU, its schools, programs, and disciplines, and discussed a range of educational topics in higher education in the presence of the GJU Vice President and the GJU Vice President for International Affairs.

 

Prof Abu. Obeid also was keen to emphasize that GJU is a great model of edification at all levels, and it always aims to broaden the range of its network with the European countries, as it is considered a bridge to Germany particularly and to other countries generally. 

 

For her part, Lesley Wilson, Secretary General of EUA, said that EUA represents and supports more than 850 institutions of higher education in 47 countries, providing them with a forum for cooperation and exchange of information on higher education and research policies.

 

She further added that the Association is promoting European policies that strengthen universities’ role in the development of Europe’s knowledge society, as well as enhancing the international dimension of universities through improved cooperation among its members and in particular by establishing dialogue with partner organizations in other world regions. 

 

Prof. Maria Helena Nazare, EUA President, assured that EUA is seeking to build partnerships in many educational interests with Jordanian universities through the Association of Arab Universities.

 

It is worthy to mention that the delegation from EUA and GJU will participate in the Second Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education which taking place at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT).
