The Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at GJU organized a valuable lecture presented by Dr. Monique E. Beaudoin, Associate Director of the Office of Naval Research Global /UK   on Monday, 9 June 2014. 

 

The Office of Naval Research Global ( ONR ) provides the science and technology necessary to maintain the Navy and Marine Corps’ technological advantage. Through its affiliates, ONR is a leader in science and technology with engagement in 50 states, 70 countries, 1,035 institutions of higher learning and 914 industry partners.

 

Dr. Monique E. Beaudoin met Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, the GJU President, and they both exchanged talks about possible cooperation in future, and the grants opportunities that are provided by (ONR) for basic research related to Naval.

 

Thereafter, Dr. Monique had a wide discussion with a number of professors about the mechanism of the grants, funding opportunities and the applying process. She pointed out that (ONR) sponsors scientific research efforts that enable the future operational concepts of sciences. 

 

She also added that the office promotes collaboration with international scientists while science advisors identify fleet needs and implement technology solutions. It is constantly looking for innovative scientific and technological solutions that can address current and future Navy and Marine Corps requirements. The office seeks to do business with people and organizations with ground-breaking ideas, pioneering scientific research, novel technology developments, and first-class support services.

 

The lecture was presented in the presence of  Prof. Dr. Marwan S. Mousa , President  of Jordanian Club of Humboldt Fellows and Yara M.Abulaban, Regional Environment Specialist, Embassy of USA, also participated in the discussion, as well as Prof Manar Fayyad, the GJU Vice President, and Prof. Majed Abu Zreig ,Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
