In correspondence with the high sense of responsibility towards the local community and in line with its efforts to support the citizens of Naur - Madaba, the German Jordanian University organized a free medical day in cooperation with the Specialty Hospital on Thursday, 12 June, 2014.
This day marked the outstanding initiative by GJU that offered quality services in the fields of internal medicine, general surgery, pediatric, and orthopedic surgery. All patients were whole-heartedly welcome to be diagnosed and receive appropriate treatment.
Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid, GJU President, expressed his delight for holding such event at GJU, which helps the unprivileged families and provide free medical services to Madaba citizens in the presence of Dr. Fawzi Hammouri CEO, General Manager of the Specialty Hospital.  
Prof. Abu.Obeid added that GJU is keen to strengthen its partnership with the local community through these humanitarian initiatives, saying that this gesture is part of our social responsibility towards the citizens who are entitled to receive health services.
For his part, Dr. Hammouri said that this initiative indicates the sense of social responsibility and its very important to continue such activities that serve the local community.
He also praised the successful experience of GJU with the private sector, pointing out to the importance of making such anagreements, including training courses, and lectures for the citizens.
During the day, doctors checked around 200 patients, offering them the needed medicine after being diagnosed.
In their turn, Madaba citizens expressed their gratitude for GJU's ongoing initiatives by extending their utmost greetings to the university, for it has helped them diagnose early detection of diseases.
