April 19th, 2015 – Amman

On Sunday April 19th, second year GEBC students from the School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL) visited Zepter International. The purpose of this trip was to introduce students to future job opportunities and acquaint them with the practical use of the language of marketing and advertising as part of their course The Language of Marketing & Advertising.

Seeing that SAHL strongly encourages the application of the German model of applied sciences. The GEBC program organized this field trip as part of its applied courses to further introduce and subject its students to actual examples of future job prospects.

Upon arrival at Zepter International, the students were welcomed by the managing director who gave them a brief presentation about the history and marketing mission of Zepter International. This was conducted in an official meeting room with high-tech visuals. The students were intrigued and curious about the role Zepter International holds in the world in terms of its various sponsorships of famous athletes and influential figures. This said; the presentation also demonstrated how easy it is to earn money through the use of language and language transfer via social media and word of mouth.

Word of mouth networking also known as direct marketing was one of the highlights of the visit. The students were immediately able to relate to this concept since word of mouth is a way too familiar behavior in their culture. In addition, making this concept even more desirable is the fact that they can actual use their marketing and advertising skills in applying them to this concept while at the same time get money for doing so.

The students were more than enthusiastic when Zepter International kindly offered to give them a free training session on how to advertise and market a specific product. This generous gesture definitely motivated the students in gaining a positive outlook on their professional future and boosted their morale.

Last but not least, the students were rewarded a job application form to fill out in order to be recruited by Zepter International.
