On behalf of His Royal Highness Crown Prince, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Mr. Nayef Al Fayez, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, honored the first three winning teams after finishing off the trip of Jordan’s desert at a final event of Allgäu-Orient Charity Rally 10 which has the sponsorship and care of his Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
During the ceremony that was held at Crown Plaza Hotel Dead-Sea , Mr. Al Fayez delivered shields to the supporters and organizers of the Rally that started off at the German city of Oberstaufen on 10th of May, 2015. About 500 participants from Jordan, Germany and other European countries participated at the Rally. In addition to 258 cars, 8 of them from Jordan.
Mr. Al Fayez said during a speech at the ceremony that hosting the final stage of Charity Allgäu-Orient Rally 10 which has sport, tourism and social features is considered to be a promotion of the tourist places in Jordan and an example of the Jordanian charitable sociable activity.
He expressed his gratitude to his Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, for sponsoring and supporting the Rally which has been hosted many times in Jordan due to the country’s safe and stable environment. Mr. Al Fayez thanked the participating and supporting associations and institutions for the contribution to the success of this charity work which has become a yearly event on the tourist map of Jordan.
For his part, GJU President, Prof. Dr. Natheer Abu Obeid said that the closing of the activities of Allgäu-Orient Rally happened while celebrating Jordan’s Independence Day and the 10th Anniversary of GJU. He added that GJU offered a new and unique model of higher education in Jordan, based on the German model of applied sciences. And it has been able to establish distinguished strategic partnerships with the public and private German educational and industrial institutions. He also mentioned that GJU has been an active participant in Jordanian community development focusing on capacity building, economic development, health care and women empowerment.
