Career Guidance and Alumni Office-GJU/KAFD in cooperation with the USAID Jordan Competitiveness Program (JCP), the Ministry of Labor and the Social Security Corporation organized a lecture for students to raise awareness of the importance of the Jordanian Labor Law also the woman Law in the labor market, in addition to an introductory about the USAID JCP’s main objects and initiatives.
Dr. Yousef Abdullat, Dean of Student Affairs emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship, which helps in providing many opportunities for Jordanian youth to enhance their role in ensuring a better future.
Ms.Mai Atieh, Legal Researcher from the Ministry of Labor, defined what is the labor law and said that it is a body of rulings pertaining to working people and their organizations , including trade unions and employee unions , enforced by government agencies.
For her part, Ms. Najah Buriqi, Director of Employment and Training Directorate-Ministry of Labor, said that the Directorate aims to provide training opportunities to develop the students' work experience, refine their personalities, and enable them to engage into a professional careers in the labor market.
Ms. Mai A. Al-Qatawneh, Director of Legal Affairs - Social Security Corporation, pointed out to the importance of the Social Security, where the employee can ensure his /her right in the work field.
At the end of the lecture Dr. Mohammad Ta’amneh, Director of Career Guidance and Alumni Office-GJU/KAFD, thanked all the parties that have participated in the lecture as well as the students for their listening.
