A 10 person administrative delegation from Magdeburg-stendal University of Applied Sciences visited GJU from 18 to 21 October to learn first hand about the university as their main partner. The delegation met with staff and discussed several ways of future cooperation, as well as expanded their knowledge of the respective administrative units and services.
The delegation visited the Othman Bdeir campus on Sunday and received a warm welcome by the Dean Dr. Yaghan and members of his staff, and received a tour of the campus as well as old Amman. Today they met with the GJU President Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, Prof. Manar Fayyad, the GJU Vice President, Prof. Anton Mangstl, the Vice President for International Affairs, as well as some of GJU staff.
The President warmly welcomed the delegation, saying that GJU considers Magdeburg University and GJU as one family and that we are willing to accept any feedback on the operations and programs at the university in order to improve the ways we develop GJU. Prof. Natheer expressed his pride of the partnership between the two universities.
Dr. Dorothea Jecht, Director of International Affairs briefed the delegation about the special features of GJU She also thanked Magdeburg for helping GJU students in their exchange year – of all the partners Magdeburg-Stendal takes in the largest group of GJU students every semester!
For her part , Ms. Britta Kaeler , Director of the Office for Industrial Links , briefed the group about the work of her office and its services and how it plays a big role in helping students in their internships in Germany.
The delegation consisted of the following members: Christof Muehlberg, Katrin Wolny , Jana Schieweck, Doreen Falke, Doreen Hinze, Anne Gerstenberger, Kerstin Röhler, Ulla Treffkorn, André Nollmann and Marion Mayr.
