On 14th of April, the School of Applied Humanities and Languages hosted Dr. Ronny Heikki Tikkanen, the International Coordinator and Associate Professor from the department of social work at the University of Gothenburg,Sweden. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Sahar Makhamreh who is responsible for the professional diploma.
The school met with Dr. Tikkanen and Prof. Anton Mangstl Vice- President as well as the International Office discussing possibilities of collaborations in the field of social work between GJU and University of Gothenburg. This visit was based on a further meeting between Prof. Jochen Pleines – Dean of Applied Humanities and Languages and Dr. Tikkanen planning collaborations and visits to some institutions related with the professional diploma “Migration and Refugees”.
After the meeting Dr. Tikkanen gave a presentation for the students about the importance of conducting research to present international perspectives. The presentation gave a positive outcome for the students where they had the chance to have a fruitful discussion in terms of research.
Dr. Makhamreh and Dr. Tikkanen visited some Jordanian institutions during his stay in Jordan, where Dr. Tikkanen was informed about Jordan’s experience in the field of Migration and Refugees.
