On Monday , 1st of August , 2016 German Jordanian University and Jordan River Foundation (JRF) signed a memorandum of understanding in order to cooperate in the field of social work also to cover current issues of child safety.
The Memo was signed by the Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Dorit Schumann on behalf of GJU, and Ms. Anaa’m Albreeshe, the General Manager on behalf of the JRF.
The MOU stipulates that both sides should cooperate and work on spreading the social work knowledge, exchanging social and cultural thoughts and experiences to support all efforts towards this field and its concerns, organizing several activities for both mutual areas, conducting research and studies especially to develop the curriculum of the new diploma of Migration and Refugees.
Prof. Schumann pointed out that the professional diploma in Migration and Refugees was established in 2016, aiming to take action and develop long-term solutions for the migration and refugees issues especially in Jordan.
For her part Ms. Albreeshe said that the foundation has focused since establishing the Child Safety Program in 1997 on fostering positive relationships between the child and parents , also the program improves child safety and child-raising practices in Jordan by providing comprehensive training and services for children, and for victims of child abuse and their families.
