The International Office at the German Jordanian University organized a welcoming meeting for the new exchange students who came from Germany on first semester 2016/2017.

German Jordanian University received this semester more than 70 students, out of them:  38 Regular Exchange Students, 5 Social Work Diploma Students and 28 Arabic Language and Culture Students. 

These students came from different German universities like the Philipp University of Marburg, HS Würzburg-Schweinfurt, Leipzig University, HS Magdeburg-Stendal, HSU Hamburg, University of Bonn, HS Bremen and many others.

Prof Natheer Abu. Obeid, the GJU’s President welcomed the new incoming students at GJU, and asserted that they will learn and gain a very good experience during their studying at GJU regards both sides, the educational and cultural.

Prof. Dorit Schumann, Vice President for International Affairs introduced the students to the GJU’s nature and programs that already have the German flavor, urging them to seize this opportunity to learn more about Jordan where they can have a good times. Finally she affirmed that GJU opens its doors to all of them  regards any inquires or help .

For his part, Prof Jochen Pleines, Dean of Applied Humanities and languages, briefed about the school, its programs especially the Arabic language and culture program and the professional diploma in social work.

Dr. Omar Shubailat, the Dean of Students Affairs, gave a short brief to the students about the Deanship's role as well as the multi activities that organized through it. On her side Dr. Dorothea Jecht, Director of International Office introduced the students to the Exchange Advisors at GJU.  

Note worth mentioning that the meeting included a wide discussion , questions and answers between the students and the exchange officers , in addition to that they have been introduced to the GJU story and its establishment through the GJU film.
