The School of Management and Logistic Sciences (SMLS) organized with the cooperation with Saint- Joseph University an introduction lecture on Road Safety Management Master Program and the scholarships they offer for students and experts in the field.
Prof. Wassim Raphael gave a presentation about the program; explaining its main objective in training a generation of decision-making managers who are specialists in local road safety issues and who are able to initiate and manage an action or an adapted policy aimed at tackling the root causes of road safety, Road safety and to achieve the region's sustainable mobility
He clarified that the training content is at the crossroads of many societal fields (transport, mobility), Policies (road safety strategy of States), Economic (choice of infrastructure), Public Health (human cost, social costs), Technical (Vehicle development), Psychosocial (education culture).
He also pointed out to the Competencies acquired from enrolling to the program such as a real multidisciplinary expertise in the field of Road Safety Management, the skills needed to initiate and manage the adapted action plans, the creation of a national and regional network of specialists to pool "Best practices" from one State to another in the Region, achievement of the cooperative bridge between the various stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
At the end of the lecture which was attended by Dr. Loay Salhieh the Dean of the School of Management and Logistic Sciences and a presenter from Jordan Traffic Institute, a discussion was conducted where the students asked questions about the procedures of enrollment and the linkage to their specialties.
