Within the framework of the Tempus Project for developing Mechatronics, the School of Applied Technical Sciences at GJU , hosted prof. Manfred Lohoefner, the Dean of the Engineering and Natural Sciences School at Hochschule Merseburg - University of Applied Sciences.

The Vice President for International Affairs, prof. Anton Mangstl, and prof. Lohoefner, discussed possible ways to expand the cooperation between the two universities.

During the visit, the two parties agreed to develop a strategic partnership to establish jointly master programs and research projects in the areas of Mechatronics Engineering and Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering.

Prof. Mangstl, outlined that GJU is an applied university, has been designed along the lines of the German applied universities and, has unique and various disciplines and programs that support and improve student skills.

For his part, Dr.Nathir Rawashdeh, Project Coordinator at GJU, emphasized that GJU has strong partnerships with Jordan and Germany, in the academic and industrial fields, pointing out that this meeting is a good opportunity, to extend the academic and cultural exchange between the two universities, where also students can get training for 5 months at German companies. 

Prof. Lohoefner spoke about Hochschule Merseburg, its features, programs and the most important research centers . He also said that Hochschule Merseburg is seeking to build cooperation with GJU, and make joint programs and projects.

Moreover, Prof. Lohoefner, gave a lecture about the Mechatronics systems, to the academic staff of the School of Applied Technical Sciences (SATS.  

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the School of Applied Technical Sciences, Dr. Ziyad Masoud and Dr. Dorothea Jecht, Director of the International Office.
