New Thinking Studio at GJU
On Tuesday 31 of March, 2014, the Deanship of Student Affairs at GJU in collaboration with the New Think Theatre organized a special show for students that included several topics by some innovators in their fields, and living examples of thinking outside the box.
New Think Theater is an organization that aims to bring on stage people who have a message, something new, to inspire, entertain and above all have a long lasting impact on the audience through real life examples.
The first session was about “Smart Types” by Mr. Ahmad Assad, Founder of Talentology Company; who emphasized that each one has a specific type of smart such as Musical Smart, Body Smart, Picture Smart and many others.
Mr. Michael Makdah, co-founder of Jobedu, talked about how is Jobedu was established, saying that it all started in 2007 when he and Tamer AlMasri wanted to experiment with creating an Arab brand that people would be proud of. Jobedu curates the awesome works of Arab designers on t-shirts, hoodies, posters and lots more.
The funniest part of the show was with Dr. Nabil Sawalha, regarding “Tolerance and Laugh”. Dr. Sawalha tried to explain how tolerance is displayed not only by how we communicate with others, but by how we communicate with ourselves.
He also extended the idea of laughing. It is considered as the best medicine, because when laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh.
