Amman- January 5, 2017

The school of applied technical sciences (SATS) represented by Dr. Anas Atieh announced the winning team of the operations simulation game “THE FRESH CONNECTION” Contest took place on January 5th 2017 at Muhakat premises and lasted for 3 hours.

5 teams (4 students each team) from SATS applied the concepts they learned in the production planning and inventory management class and compete each other to enhance the fallen juice manufacturing company with -4% ROI. SATS students groups competes against each other aiming to enhance the company ROI utilizing the learning outcomes and tools they have gained from PPIC course.

The case study includes a high-performing supply chain, which needs the collaboration of team members from across the organization (operations, sales, supply chain, and procurements). Tearing down silos and creating the right cross-functional mindset, however, can be a serious challenge.

The Fresh Connection is a cross-functional business simulation which motivates the team to deliver optimal performance by using operations & supply chain management best practices from real-world situations. Furthermore, The Fresh Connection is a stimulating game which enhances understanding of operations and supply chain management and boosts teamwork. Once students are able to do things, means understanding the subject better.  “The Fresh Connection delivers the ultimate value chain learning experience. Experience the power of true alignment and a well-articulated supply chain strategy, supported by  tactical skills and knowledge.  Fresh connection is actively used in teaching operations and supply chain in over 30 countries,

GJU wishes to thank our host, Muhakat Jordan and its managing director Mr. Samer Al Madhoun and looks forward for a continuous academia-industry relationship.
