The German Jordanian University held the fourth Annual Evening of Excellence under the patronage of her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein, on Saturday, 8th of November, 2014 at Le Royal Amman Hotel. The ceremony aimed at honoring the GJU top graduates, top students, distinguished faculty members, administrative staff, GJU Centre, GJU Entrepreneurs and GJU Industry Partners.

Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid , the GJU President asserted that the excellent reputation of GJU and the very high percentage of employment within graduates are strong indicators of the excellence of GJU. He further added that excellence is about the value of quality in what humans do and about continuous striving to have a better life for societies.

 

“In my opinion, excellence is a reminder to sustain a culture of goodness.” The President said.

 

Finally, Prof. Abu Obeid thanked HRH Princess Muna to honor the university with her patronage of this event, also he extended his gratitude to his colleagues for their efforts in organizing  this event , and to the supporters ; DAAD, partner Office of GJU in Magdeburg as well as the German Embassy in Jordan. 

 

In his speech, HE Mr. Ralph Tarraph, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Jordan pointed out that under the very difficult situation the Arab countries are facing , Jordan is still standing and its getting more and more distinguished as it always prove to the world , that our young people are able to work,  to achieve  and to be excellent.  GJU has used to be the first and the most alive example of that. As the Ambassador also commended the “excellent level” the university has reached.

 

Asma Husun a GJU graduate gave a speech on behalf of the distinguished GJU graduates, speaking about the   huge responsibilities that are waiting for those distinctive young people who did not have achieved their outstanding results by accident, rather by a very hard works.  

 

On behalf of the GJU Alumni Entrepreneurs students, Saed Daraghmeh spoke about his journey during university and his small business that he tried to make it without any plans or experiences at the beginning, but he assured that through perseverance and working day by day people can reach success.   

 

At the end of the ceremony, HRH Princess Muna, Prof. Abu Obeid and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Eng. Othman Bedier  distributed certificates and gifts among honored students, graduates, staff , Entrepreneurs and industrial partners, Note worth mentioning that during the ceremony, musical pieces were performed by GJU musical band.
