Amman- 21 September 2021

Research Assistant Engineer Ahmed Al-Baghdadi from the Nano Lab at the German Jordanian University won first place in the “Falling Walls Lab Jordan” competition for the year 2021 organized by the Engineers International Community - EIC, sponsored by the DAAD, and supported by GJU as an academic partner.

Ahmed won a ticket to pitch his idea in the international Falling Walls Lab finale in Berlin this November for his project on merging microfluidics and robotics to automate microfluidic processes in biomedical and pharmaceutical industrial research.

Ten finalists pitched their ideas in 3-minute presentations before a distinguished jury from academia and industry in September 18, at Zain innovation Campus (ZINC). The ideas were evaluated based on the breakthrough factor, impact, and presenter’s performance.

Falling Walls Labs take place globally throughout the year. The winner of each international Falling Walls Lab qualifies for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, which is held every year on 8 November and is closely connected to the annual and internationally renowned Falling Walls Conference. At the Conference 20, world-class scientists from across the globe present their current breakthrough.
