On Monday, 18th of July, 2016 Ms. Tanja Gönner , Chair of the Management Board of GIZ accompanied  with group members of GIZ paid a visit to GJU in order to learn more about the university , developing further cooperation , and discussing new dual studies and projects.

Professor Natheer Abu Obeid president of GJU warmly welcomed Ms. Gönner and all guests, mentioning the excellent relationship that GJU is enjoying with the GIZ especially in the industrial matters and the very important projects that are implementing.     

Speaking to delegation, the president briefed about GJU  that it is a transitional institution, has a variety of applied programs, enforcing the German dimensions, pointing out to the important concept of the fourth German exchange year. He further added that GJU now exceeded the number of 100 partners.

For her part Ms. Gönner praised this bright model of  university, and showed an interest to know more about GJU, its programs, strategy and students. She also spoke about the GIZ's desire to cooperate in new dual studies, in addition to technical and vocational training. 

The delegation had an overview about  the Solar Cooling Plant Project that was implemented through GIZ  and Jordanian Ministry of Environment. The  guests listened to a short brief about the project by Dr. Ammar Alkhalidi, School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management and Dr. Munjed Al Sharif, Dean of School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management.

The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Michaela Baur GIZ Office/ Jordan Country Director as well as a group of representatives from GIZ, and from GJU the Vice Presidents, then Directors of International Office and Office for Industrial Links in addition to the GJU Coordinator JOSY Project Dr. Dhiah AbuTair.
