The German Jordanian University (GJU) and Huawei Jordan signed a cooperation agreement to establish the Huawei Academy for Information Technology and Networks at GJU to provide technical training to university professors and students using modern curricula and training tools approved by Huawei.The agreement, which was signed on behalf of the university by the President, Prof Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and on behalf of the company, Jang Shih Joo, stated for the training of the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (SEEIT) students in the bachelor's and master's levels on the company's curricula and the latest equipment, at a rate of nine credit hours that were integrated with study plans for computer engineering and electrical engineering departments via cybersecurity, cloud computing, and fifth generation communications courses, in addition to training faculty members on the new curricula, providing training equipment, and allowing participants to sit for exams approved by the company for this purpose.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Dean of SEEIT, Prof. Firas Al-Hawari, the Vice Dean, Prof. Osama Al-Badraneh, the Head of the Computer Engineering Department, Dr. Ammar Al-Gharaibeh and the Director of Public Relations at Huawei, Idris Al-Naimat.

Furthermore, Huawei's delegation visited the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), where the Dean, Dr. Nidal Al-Shawawreh, introduced the Deanship's goals and roles.
