A delegation from the Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) visited GJU to meet with a group of academic staff whom are members in the CIM and participants of the Migration for Development Program, to review their work and check out on the new research labs that are supported by CIM.

 

As the CIM is providing a great support to the potential returnees experts who graduated from Germany and enable them to establish a research lab in their workplace through providing them with the needed equipment and devices.  

 

Prof. Manar Fayyad , the Vice President of GJU welcomed the delegation and thanked the CIM for supporting the academic staff and helping them to develop their work in their home country.

 

For her part, the Program Coordinator -CIM, Ms. Krestin Schaub emphasized that migration for development program aims to make the most of this potential, so that expertise and experience can be transferred sustainably, in addition to expand knowledge on the effects of migration on source and destination countries and identify the migration policies, regulations and institutional reforms that will lead to superior development outcomes.

 

Dr. Inshad Juma’a, Assistant Professor at the School of Natural Recourses Engineering, has recently received her equipment and devices to establish her new lab at the university, to start her project as she and her students are testing nanotechnology solutions to clean polluted olive- mill water, a critical problem in an olive oil and producing country like Jordan.

 

Furthermore, she expressed her happiness for convincing overseas institutions to support her efforts in moving forward, and for seeing many of students following her example by carrying on their studies in Germany, she also thanked CIM for their support.

 

At the end of the meeting that was attended by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Prof. Majed Abu Zreig, Dean of School of Applied Medical Sciences Dr. Malyuba Abu-Daabes, Dean of School of Languages Prof. Nabil Ayoub, as well as the members of the CIM, Dr. Mohammad Alnaief, Dr. Nafeesa Al. Rifai and Eng. Mahmoud Al.Ghram, the delegation had an overview on the lab where the new equipment and devices are.
