On Tuesday October 17, 2018, a delegation of administrative staff from the University of Magdeburg for Applied Sciences in Germany visited the German Jordanian University (GJU), to learn about the University, its programs, the nature of work in the departments and the GJU role in promoting bilateral relations between Jordan and Germany.

The visit comes within the framework of bilateral exchange program, which is coordinated by the University of Magdeburg annually. The delegation met with the President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad, Vice Presidents Dr. Atef Kharabsheh and Dr. Dorit Schumann.

Dr. Manar praised the role played by the University of Magdeburg and the project office in facilitating and supporting GJU’s students during the German Year, appreciating the strategic partnership with the University of Magdeburg and the support of German educational and industrial institutions.

The members of the German delegation took the opportunity to learn about the academic and educational projects and met with some department’s staff to exchange knowledge and develop administrative expertise.

The departments included the Presidency and Councils’ Affairs Department, Public Relations Department, the Quality Assurance and accreditation Department (QAAD), besides the International Office (IO), and the Office for Industrial Links (OIL).

The delegation visited the School of Architecture and the Built Environment (SABE) at Jabal Amman, the water desalination project in the southern Shouneh, the Research Center of the School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management (SNREM), as well as Anwar Solar Energy Project.

In addition, they visited the Syrian and Jordanian Education Office and some archaeological sites in the Kingdom, including Mount Nebo, Castle Mountain and Petra.
