The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, received a delegation from Zarqa University consisted of Head of the Board of Directors of Zarqa Company for Education and Investment, Dr. Mahmoud Abu-Shaera, the President of Zarqa University Prof. Nidal Al-Ramahi, the President’s advisor, Dr. Alaa Sadiq, and the Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Khaled Al-Zaydaneen.

During the meeting, they discussed strategic cooperation between the two universities, especially in the Syrian-Jordanian education program, as Zarqa University is one of the essential local partners in the project and annually receives a large group of young people benefiting from the scholarship in its various study programs.

Prof. Al-Halhouli indicated that GJU is proud of its partnership with Zarqa University and the rest of the partners for their role in providing educational opportunities for Syrian and Jordanian youth in the areas affected by refugees, to support them improve their standard of living and obtain higher education through grants, vocational education or technical training. Besides studying a diploma in qualifying and preparing teachers, participating in entrepreneurship support programs, preparatory courses for entering the labor market, and summer programs for high school students.

He indicated that the program is a success story for the university because it gave the youth hope to complete their studies and build their future, as the number of students of the program is 1268 and the total number of graduates of the program is 1330 students so far.

For his part, Director of Edu- Syria Program, Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair, expressed his appreciation to Zarqa University for their role in the success of the project and providing distinguished programs for students, indicating that about 3,385 young Syrian refugees and Jordanian would benefit from charitable institutions to pursue higher education and other programs.
