Discovering Cities is a new student and research based DAAD funded cooperation project between the Bauhaus University of Weimar, represented by Prof. Frank Eckardt and Arch. Abdulmalik Abdulmawla, and the German Jordanian University, School of Architecture and Built Environment represented by Dr. Maram Tawil.

As part of the academic activities of the project, a research stay took place in Weimar this summer in order to shape and structure the student’s cooperation project, taking the neighborhood of Jabal Al-Hussain as a case study in Amman and further think the research potential topics and themes between the partners.

In this aspect, Dr. Maram Tawil has presented Amman in its planning perspectives and potential research cooperation on a regional strategic level in the presence of the partner departments at the Bauhaus University.

As part of the project assistance and research milestones, Arch Lubna Alawneh was engaged to develop on her Master thesis and assist in building the student based activities.
