Amman- 13 April , 2017

Dr. Ala’ Khalifeh, from the school of electrical and information technology, the team leader of the project Teletera, has recently won the first prize in Queen Rania Entrepreneurship competition for the year 2016 for the track: Software as A Service (SAS).

The project aims at providing a very efficient videoconferencing platform that can be used in several applications such as e-health. The video conferencing platform has a novel video adaptation algorithm that controls the video quality depending on the network status and conditions, such as it gives the user an acceptable video quality even when having low bandwidth. The platform can be used to connect   patients in rural and far areas that lack top medical doctors and specialists, with the main hospitals in the major cities, which in turns improves the healthcare services in rural and undeserved areas.
