GJU Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Dorit Schumann represented GJU in an international conference about Erasmus+ agreements at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). VGTU is located in Lithuania, one of the eastern EU member counties and one of GJUs first international Erasmus+ partner outside Germany with high reputation in education, research and internationalization.

The participants of the conference came from 16 different EU member countries or Erasmus+ associated countries. Within the conference Prof. Schumann presented the Trans-National-Education concept of the German Jordanian University and in addition she was invited to present a keynote about “global challenges in implementation of the international credit mobility programme”. Participants from different countries communicated interest to build up Erasmus+ partnerships with GJU in the near future.

The Erasmus agreement between GJU and VGTU was signed in 2016 and is active with staff exchanges on academic and administrative level as well as for student exchanges. Currently two GJU students (from Architecture and Management) spend one semester at VGTU in Lithuania.

During the conference Prof. Schumann discussed with the VGTU Vice President for Strategic Partnerships Prof. Asta Radzevičienė and with Erasmus+ Coordinator Dovilė Mackevičienė potentials of future cooperation in the fields of student and staff exchange, joint PhD and research activities .
