On Thursday 25th of January 2018, the International Office (IO) and Office for Industrial Links (OIL) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), organized the Farewell Ceremony for the Outgoing Students Spring 2018, in the presence of the President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad, Head of DAAD Gabriele Von Fircks, and faculty members.

The president of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad expressed her joy and happiness to witness another batch leaving to Germany for their “German Year” in which students spend their first  semester studying in one of the German partner universities, while the second for an internship in a German company.

She stressed the importance of utilizing their time wisely, explaining that they are ambassadors to GJU and Jordan and have a mission besides their study by being a bright model to Jordanian youth.

Fayyad encouraged the students to interact with the German society and students to reinforce their skills, personalities and knowledge.

During the ceremony Director of (IO) Jens Hegemann, the Dean of Students Affairs (DSA) Dr. Omar Shubailat, presented speeches where they motivated the students to learn and work hard, in additions to contact the involved officers in case of any inquiries or problems that may occur during their stay in Germany.

Two presentations were conducted during the ceremony, one by student Hussam Khreisat on “Living and Studying in Germany”; while the other by student Lara Nasser on “Internship in Germany”.
