On Thursday, June 20, 2019, the International Office (IO) and Office for Industrial Links (OIL) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), organized a Farewell Ceremony for the Outgoing Students Winter2019/ 2020.

Vice President of GJU Prof. Atef Kharabsheh, the Dean of Deanship of Student Affair, Dr. Raed Khasawneh, the Cultural Attaché at German Embassy, Mr. Tobias Caris, attended the ceremony.

Prof. Kharabsheh explained to the students the importance of this year, stating that it involves duties and responsibilities. He encouraged the students to learn from the German culture, language, and imprint a good reputation of GJU and Jordan, mentioning the great support received by DAAD and the German Embassy jointly with the IO and OIL.

In his speech, Director of IO, Mr. Jens Hegemann, congratulated the students for reaching a turning point of their lives, as he also directed the students to benefit from this gathering and learn from previous students' experiences. He assured them that they would be provided with all support and assistance during their stay in Germany.

Moreover, Dr. Khasawneh and Mr. Caris wished all the success to the students in their upcoming journey, advising them to think about this experience as a transformation phase to the best not just as a graduation requirement.

IO team and OIL team with the assistance of GJUs’ students conducted presentations on “Living and Studying in Germany” and “Internship in Germany” beside an introduction by Ulrike Marquardt from the Project Office at Magdeburg. In the end, GJU’s talented students presented musical performance.

Afterward, IO, OIL, Exchange Coordinators and the outgoing students gathered in an informal evening at the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) in Jabal Amman where they had the chance to meet future fellow students of their German universities and to speak German with the IO and OIL colleagues.
