The Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at German Jordanian University organized “the First Annual GJU Research Day”  under the patronage of GJU President Professor Natheer Abu Obeid and in the presence of GJU Vice Presidents and academic members on Thursday 13th of October, 2016.  

The goal of this event is to showcase the full range of the impressive work has been done by our researchers, graduate students and schools at GJU. This is to encourage and foster research from various schools and areas, recognize excellence and help raise awareness.  

President Abu Obeid emphasized that GJU has an impressive unique identity of “Research and Industry linkage “, and that GJU claims to be an applied scientific institution putting  research on the top of its priorities and seeks to inculcate the culture of research and consultations among the academic  members and graduates.

Furthermore, he called on all GJU academic members to work together as one team on a big innovative projects, using the world and country problems as projects, step up efforts and find solutions on the ground.

For his part Prof. Salem Al-Agtash, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research gave an overview about GJU research and said that this event is a platform that allows our academic members to share thoughts and experiences about researches and to set some core principles to work as groups on big projects that are linked to the industrial bodies.

The event included several sessions, presentations and panels to discuss the current and future trends in research and development at GJU, the quality in research and the multidisciplinary collaboration opportunities in research.  

It is worthy to mention that the event was supported by the following projects funded by SRTD-II:

-  AR164: Energy Harvesting Using Thermoelectric Generators, Dr. Zakariya Dalala

-  AR18:  An Integrated Energy System for Domestic Space and Water Heating, Dr. Mohammad Al-Addous

-  AR17: Utilizing hyperspectral imaging techniques to evaluate key surface water quality parameters, Dr. Qasem Abdelal
