The German Jordanian University (GJU) announced the approval of the Higher Education Council to create a master's program in: "Humanitarian, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (humanitarian WaSH)" Housed at the School of Natural Resource Engineering and Management (SNREM).
 
The President of the GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad said that the launch of this highly specialized and unique qualitative program came to cope with the urgent need and the severe shortage that the world in general and the region, in particular, witnessed to specialists in water and sanitation techniques and hygiene in the humanitarian framework. In preparation for this MSc program, the German Jordanian University has conducted extensive studies of the market need in this area, which demonstrated this need.
 
It is worth noting that this program was developed in cooperation with Action against Hunger (ACF) organization and Bioforce (a humanitarian focused internationally recognized organization) in France, also with the full support of OFDA / USAID and UNICEF.
 
The Dean of SNREM, Dr. Arwa Abdel-Hay, indicated that the study plan had been prepared in close cooperation with the project partners where their long and important practical experience has been included in this regard in close harmony with the state of the are theoretical knowledge and background in the area of Humanitarian WaSH.
 
GJU is glad to announce that this program which is the first in the region and the third in the world has gone through extensive academic and administrative preparations to provide all the requirements for the program to start receiving students starting from the first semester 2020/2021.
