On Monday 5th of February 2018, The School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (SEEIT) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), organized a course for students entitled “Web Infrastructure, Service and Applications” conducted by Prof. Dr. Ing. Jens Ehlers from Lubak University for Applied Sciences in Germany, within the Flaying Faculty Program of GJU.

Twelve students participated in the course that lasted for two weeks covered various topics such as introduction to IDE, web technology foundations and design, web Services, data storage and security aspects in web applications, participant students were subjected to complete 48 hours, which is equivalent to one elective course from Computer Science plan at GJU.

Prof. Ehlers who is visiting GJU and Jordan for the first time said that his experience during the course was excellent with the students and faculty members, mentioning that the course provides the students with skills in web development so they know how to construct basic architecture

He explained that the students had to work for a full day during two weeks under intensive conditions to learn and apply their knowledge practically in a frame of a final project.

Student Omar Al-Karghood said that the course was very beneficial because it allowed them to apply their knowledge in a project, considering the skills gained an advantage to their career hunt after graduation.

The Flying Faculty program was established at GJU to enhance the exchange of expertise between the university and its German partner universities. The program supports lecturers and professors especially from partner universities to teach specific courses at GJU that add value and expertise to the regular curriculum offered by the faculties.
