April 16th, 2015 – Amman

On Thursday April 16th, fourth year translation students from the School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL) visited KFW Entwicklungsbank. The purpose of this trip was to introduce students to future job projects in the translation field.

The students were welcomed by the institution’s employees where they were given a brief overview by KFW Office Director of the projects the organization conducts in Jordan with regard to water projects. They were also briefed about the types of texts that are always in demand of professional translation from German to English, German to Arabic, and vice versa.

The highlight of the visit was the information students received about German projects conducted in Jordan and the numerous opportunities they may want to search for in various fields and other international and non-profit organizations.

The academic field trip is considered part of their professional studies course offered in the translation program.  SAHL always urges its students to take part in as many professional and academic field trips so as to apply the applied concept of the school in real life.
