Amman- 24 October 2019

On Sunday, October 20, 2019, the Binational Fulbright Commission in Jordan visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) to introduce faculty members and students to the Fulbright Scholarships/Fellowships for the academic year 2021/2022, in addition to the Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP) for the Junior Faculty Members.

The Fulbright team explained that the Commission strives to ensure that its efforts reflect the diversity of Jordanian and American societies. The team also explained the requirement, eligibility, duration, and the process to apply for the three programs.

The pre- Doctoral Program is 2 years fulltime study to obtain a Master's degree in the United States. All fields of study are accepted, except for Medicine, Veterinary Science, Dentistry, and any clinical field of study that requires direct interaction with humans.

The Post- Doctoral Program is designed for Jordanian scholars interested in pursuing a specific collaborative research project in the United States for a period of stay ranging from a minimum of four months to a maximum of nine months. This scholarship requires a Ph.D. or an equivalent professional degree.

Moreover, the team introduced the new program for junior faculty members, Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP), in two fields Health and Environmental Sustainability. The program aims at building higher education capacity in the home country of Junior Faculty through faculty development and mentoring, linkages between junior faculty and U.S academics, and promote mutual understanding between the home country of the junior faculty and Americans.
