Officials from the Jordanian Parliament welcomed students enrolled in the program German and English for Business Communication (GEBC) at School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL) to take part in a closed panel discussion on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.

During the panel discussion, Dr. Hazem Al Hawamdeh briefed the students about the history of the parliament and the role representatives play in issuing law proposals and suggesting amendments of laws to the government.

Furthermore, the visit is one of the practical aspects of the course Overview: Politics and Institutions. As part of the visit’s objective, GEBC students were introduced to the practical side of the Jordanian Parliament in addition to their theoretical knowledge of the parliament which they were taught in the course mentioned. 

Moreover, the students were encouraged to ask questions regarding the role of representatives, parties, and ministers in the parliament. Thereafter, the students expressed their interest in elections and inquired about the steps the government has taken so far in facilitating their involvement in the political life in Jordan.
