The German Jordanian University will launch the Children University, also known as “Little Professor” program in August, 2022. The aim of this program is to enhance scientific thinking and creativity in children and introduce them to the method of university learning through their participation in several interactive lectures.

Moreover, the program which will be launched at the university’s main campus in Mushaqar is set to target school students between the ages of (8-12) from different regions in the Kingdom. It will be supervised by the university’s staff and the German Technical University of Braunschweig.

The program will last for almost a month with four interactive lectures for children (90 hours for each lecture) entitled: Silence among noise, is that possible? Why objects break or get ruined? Computer and data? What is light and shade? And how do they form?

Furthermore, GJU President Prof. Ala'aldeen Al- Halhouli stated that this is a great opportunity for children to experience university life at an early age and get exposed to lectures and scientific information presented to them in an interactive method that will make them excited about learning more about the university environment and meeting its academic staff and employees. The president added that Children University will included ongoing activities such as: a fourth summer camp for the children of local community in the district of Naur and the governorate of Madaba, and offering language training for children together with sport games and art and presentation skills. In addition, the program will include several field trips to touristic and heritage sites where the children will get introduced to the history of their country, and a sixth scientific camp by the innovation and entrepreneurship association in order to enhance their innovative skills in which it targets innovative students and teachers who have achieved prominent places in the future scientists competition and Lumastart International organized by the association.
