Amman- 25 April 2018

On Monday the16 the of April  2018, a group of the German Jordanian University’s (GJU) students has participated in the "Safe Driving" workshop which was held by the Royal Automobile Club Jordan (RACJ).

The workshop aims at educating the drivers on safe driving techniques such as  safe following distance, understanding traffic signs and introducing the concept of hazard identification and risk assessment.

The workshop included driving simulation training where the participants got the chance to try four driving scenarios namely; suddenly appeared objects, slippery roads, ABS vs non-ABS equipped vehicles and using winter tires.

At the end of each simulation scenario, the trainer assessed the participants’ perception reaction time and the vehicle total stopping distance.

The RACJ aims at reducing the traffic collisions among youth by offering these training courses to university students and this comes as part of their work in the national decade of action for road safety 2011-2020.
