Amman-15 November 2017

Azmi Al Nawayseh who graduated in Management Sciences from GJU in 2010, continued his career and education in Germany after working for GJU’s International Office.

In 2014, he moved to Villingen-Schwenningen where he started to work as a Project Manager of a program for International Students at the Corporate State University of Baden Wuerttemberg ((DHBW).

He is currently enrolled in the MBA degree program International Management at the University of Nürtingen (HfWU) and writing his master thesis at Daimler Insurance Services GmbH in Stuttgart In addition, Azmi is a volunteer translator at the pool of interpreters in Nürtingen and also acts as a Jordanian representative of the Cross-Culture Program at the Institute for Foreign Relations.

The DAAD Prize for Outstanding Achievements of Foreign Students at German Universities was awarded to him by HfWU rector Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Frey.

Yet, Azmi is not the only one who makes his country proud: Having started his studies in Industrial Engineering at GJU, Mohammad Zayed is currently studying at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal in his seventh semester and also received the DAAD Prize for Outstanding Achievements of Foreign Students at German Universities.

After his German year which included an internship at Airbus Operations GmbH, the 24-year-old completed an intensive German course and relocated to Magdeburg in order to finish his studies, where he now shares his experiences with other Jordanian students and helps them find their way around town. Besides his studies, Mohammad has been a working student at Airbus since 2016 fulfilling his childhood dream of working with airplanes.

The DAAD prize for Outstanding Achievements of Foreign Students is worth 1,000 Euro and has been awarded for more than ten years. It intends to show the large numbers of foreign students at German universities and to connect them with their stories. Every single foreign student takes a piece of Germany home with him/her and leaves something of himself/herself in Germany - an enrichment for both sides. The students, who received such a prize through their respective host university, stand for their fellow students from all over the world. They are future partners for Germany in business, politics and science.

Congratulations from GJU’s family to Azmi and Mohammad on their achievements – and looking forward to hearing the stories of many more successful GJU students in Germany.
