The German Jordanian University (GJU) organized through the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) the Spring Carnival to celebrate the new students, Alkarama Day and Mother’s Day, in the presence of the President of GJU, Prof. Alaa'eldeen Al-Halhouli, the Dean of DSA, Dr. Thelal Oweis, GJU students, faculty and administrative members.
Dr. Al-Halhouli said, “It is good to see and welcome our students, and embrace them in the university’s premises in two dears occasions to our hearts, Alkarama day and Mother's Day.” Dr. Al-Halhouli added, “GJU opens its doors to you. We ask you to invest your positive energy in extracurricular activities and participate in competitions and events to strengthen your abilities and skills.”
Dr. Thelal said, ” We celebrate the battle of Alkarama because it is part of the history and an advanced station in the history of the Arab army, the heir of the army of the Great Arab Revolt and the heir of our forefathers' armies in Yarmouk, Hittin and Mutah battels. She added, “On Alkarama Day, we also celebrate Mother's Day. Two days coincide. Their greatest common denominator is sacrifice and redemption.”
The carnival included poetry and theatrical performances, a sports show, an art exhibition, introductory videos for students' clubs, activities and musical performances by the GJU band.
