The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli, has discussed with the representative of the Regional Office of Siemens, Mr. Syed Ali Mehdi, the ways of cooperation and the possibility of establishing an Innovation Think Tank (ITT) Healthineers at GJU, which aims to develop the skills of academics, researchers and students in the field of research and development.

The President has welcomed the guest and expressed his full support for the project. He insisted that this type of initiative significantly supports the university's efforts in implementing pilot projects to serve all academic departments at the university and strengthen the German dimension at the university.

The guest expressed the enthusiasm of Siemens to cooperate with distinguished institutions such as the German Jordanian University.

In the meeting, Prof. Ralf Rosskopf, the Vice President for International Affairs, highlighted the importance of the project for the dual studies program at the university.

The meeting was initiated by the School of Applied Medical Sciences / Department of Biomedical Engineering, where The Dean of the School of Applied Medical Sciences (SAMS), Dr. Walid Al-Zyoud, confirmed the readiness of the School to embrace this initiative and provide the scientific and practical expertise necessary to create the Innovation Think Tank.

The Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Dr. Sameer Hasan,  indicated that such initiatives would improve the students' skills in applications, especially those related to biomedical and health systems.

Mrs. Britta Kaehler, the director of the Office for Industrial Links (OIL) at GJU, has attended the meeting and the Siemens representative in Jordan Engineer Soheib Yassin.
