Amman- 19 April 2021

On Thursday, April 01 2021, GJU successfully conducted its online Dual Studies Company Day via Zoom.

Aim of the event was to introduce the companies and facilitate the matching process between students and companies for this year’s intakes in the Dual Studies Track for the following majors: Logistics Science, International Accounting and Industrial Engineering.

Ms. Simone Strasburger, Dual Studies Advisor at GJU, opened the event. She welcomed the participants and highlighted the available opportunities; furthermore, she thanked all the partners involved in the success of this program, especially for the ongoing support and commitment despite the global pandemic.

GJU’s president, Prof. Manar Fayyad, welcomed companies and the students participating in the event, expressing how proud and enthusiastic she feels seeing the program growing each year.

She also thanked GIZ for its support and mentioned that she is looking forward to expand Dual Studies to all majors offered at GJU, as linking the practical and theoretical knowledge is one of the main goals of the University.

The Dual Studies Program at GJU is supported by the German Development Cooperation GIZ. Dr. Wolfgang Frohberg, who is responsible from GIZ side, expressed GIZ’s satisfaction about the successful development of the program, which is now running in its third year.

After the opening the participating companies went into different online “breakout rooms” where they introduced their businesses and where students and companies had the chance to meet and get a first impression of each other. More than 60 first-year students from the above-mentioned majors were using the chance to learn more about GJUs partner companies. The Dual Studies Team at GJU was available during the whole session to provide general information and technical support.

Within the feedback session after the event, all companies expressed their satisfaction. “We were really happy with the interactions we had with the students. It was impressive to see how GJU managed to facilitate such event online“, one of the company representatives stated.
