The International Affairs Department (IAD) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized the farewell event for the Outgoing students of the 1st semester 2022/23. In the history of GJU, this is the 29th batch of Outgoing students leaving to Germany and starting their obligatory German Year.

After three to four years of studying at GJU, learning the German language and several months of intensive preparation with the IAD, students were excited and motivated to begin their German Year which marks the next step in their GJU career.

Celebrating a milestone the farewell event is considered the biggest event of the semester in which Outgoing students get the last package of information and preparation before they start their great journey abroad.

The auditorium G was filled with more than 250 students with the presence of the president of the German Jordanian University Prof. Dr. Ala’aldeen Alhalhouli, the Vice-president for International Affairs Prof. Dr. Ralf Rosskopf, the Director of the International Affairs Department Stefanie Kirsch and  the Dean of Students Affairs Department Dr. Thelal Oweis giving speeches to the students, alongside with external guests such as Ms. Sabine Musah and Mr. Thomas Rohland from the German Embassy Amman, Dr. Abdulnaser Hindawi from the DAAD Jordan, Dr. Monica Heitz from Project Office at Hochschule Magdeburg and Mr. Jonas Marggraf the COO of Fintiba GmbH.

 The IAD team of Outgoing and Internship Coordinators provided presentations to the students in order to facilitate their German Year and two GJU Alumni shared their own study and internship experience in Germany with the students giving informative tips & hacks before the GJU band played their farewell songs and closed the official part of the event.

In the evening all Outgoing students were invited to SABE campus to celebrate a Farewell party. The International Affairs Department (IAD) together with Fintiba as sponsor organized an informal gathering with food and music where students could get to know each other better, dance and celebrate together with their GJU family before the big journey starts and they all leave to Germany together for a new adventure as part of their GJU studies.
