Jordan Engineers Association in cooperation with the German Jordanian University (GJU) and Institute of Industrial Engineers- US organized the 1st International Conference on Industrial, Systems and Manufacturing Engineering (ISME’14 ) on Tuesday,  the 11th of November, 2014.

 

ISME’14 aimed to address and connect current issues in research and applications in the various fields of industrial, systems and manufacturing engineering.

 

During the opening, the representative of HRH Princess Sumaya, and the President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai  emphasized that  Jordan Engineers Association  is keen to hold  conferences, workshops and important scientific meetings  in order to provide the engineers  with opportunities to exchange experiences and ideas with scientists and researchers from various countries of the world, thereby contributing to raising the efficiency of the Jordanian Engineer and elevate him to the world.  

 

For her part the GJU Vice President Prof. Manar Fayyad, said that the university is seeking to cooperate with the Engineers Association and the national organizations to link between the academic side and the practical side.

 

Furthermore, Prof. Fayyad added that GJU enforcing that through the German exchange year which helps the students to enrich their experiences and develop their skills in the two sides, the educational and practical sides by studying and working in the German universities and factories.

 

On his side, Dr. Safwan Al Tarazi, the  Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference, said that the conference will discuss 46 scientific paper that are combine the theoretical and practical sides, pointing out that the lectures  will be given by engineers from Palestine, Libya ,the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Malaysia, Turkey, Germany, Finland, Norway, Britain, Japan, Sweden, Australia, Canada and America, in addition to Jordan.   

 

It is worth mentioning that ISME’14 was a major forum for researches, engineers, industrialists, practitioners and students from all over the world to meet and present their latest research results and to exchange cutting-edge ideas and practical experience in the major areas of industrial, systems and manufacturing engineering.
