The German Jordanian University participated in the Fifth International Peace Conference (Student and University Cultural Exchange Program Towards Building Societal and Global Peace among Nations), organized by the Land of Peace Center in cooperation with the Islamic University of Maldives, with the participation of representatives from the German Jordanian University and Yarmouk University- Jordan, as well as Arab, Islamic and international universities.

The President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, indicated in his speech through the Zoom platform that the GJU adopts a vision represented in being an international university of applied sciences, well known in applied education, scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and an example to follow in deepening and building bridges of cooperation and partnership between Jordan and Germany and the whole world.

Dr. Al-Halhouli also indicated the university's role in promoting student and cultural exchange programs, accepting the culture of others, rejecting violence and extremism. Furthermore, he expressed his hope for strengthening relations between the German Jordanian University, the University of Maldives, and the participating universities.

In turn, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Thelal Oweis, presented a paper addressing the role of the deanships of student affairs in universities in establishing knowledge and cultural exchange. She indicated that the deanships play a pivotal role in promoting the community peace values among university students also reflect the university's scientific, humanitarian, and patriotic mission to meet the students' needs and aspirations.

At the end of the conference, a set of recommendations emerged, such as supporting student exchange programs among Islamic countries and searching for new funding methods to support these programs, increasing the number of grants, and enhancing the universities role in educating students on the values ​​of community and global peace.
