On Saturday 31st of March 2018, The German-Jordanian University (GJU) participated in the ceremony of honoring the winners of the “Annual Industrial Graduation Projects Competition” and “Competition of projects implemented in the industry”, organized by Jordan Engineer Association (JEA) at Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Adel Al-Twaisi.

During the ceremony, students Tariq Abu Alrub, Mohammed Al Mulla from Mechanical Engineering Department and their supervisor Dr. Ismail Al-Hinti were honored for winning the first place for project entitled "Energy audit of Building C" at the GJU. It includes a detailed energy audit of one of the university's largest buildings Energy saving capabilities.

Students Karam Masadeh and Mohammad Abu Obeid and their supervisor, Dr. Ziad Abu Alrub from the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering Department, School of Applied Medical Sciences (SAMS) were also honored for winning the second place within the projects implemented with the industrial sector category.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, GJU and ACI signed an memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase their joint approach to linking universities and the industrial sector as a strategic path that contributes to economic development, increasing local benefit and promoting the national economy.

The MoU, which was signed by president of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad, and on behalf of the Chamber, Adnan Ghaith, reinforce cooperation in applied scientific research based on the needs of the industrial sector and the development of industrial products besides the organization of joint activities and the implementation of graduation projects for the bachelor's and master's degrees for various disciplines of the university and the organization of scientific graduation projects competitions.
