A delegation from the German Jordanian University (GJU) headed by Vice President, Prof. Malek Alsharairi and the Director of the Syrian Education Project (Edu-Syria), Dr. Diaa Abu Tair, participated in ICEF World Student Scholarship Education Program that was held in cooperation with the Gulf Conferences in the Emirates Towers in Dubai.

The event brought together many governments’ agencies, agencies, and institutions in the GCC countries interested in linking up with international educational institutions. It provided a unique opportunity for international educators to network with the largest gathering of scholarship providers sending students abroad from the Middle East.

It also provided the opportunity to hold one-on-one meetings with representatives of the concerned bodies and institutions to discuss new partnerships and attend programs of live seminars, presentations, and panel discussions that include experts and regional leaders working to develop and increase educational opportunities in the Arab Gulf countries.

Dr. Alsharairi indicated that the conference focused on the challenges facing educational institutions in light of the acceleration and change in the requirements of the labor market and the ability of the education sector to meet future aspirations and visions, adding that the conference also resulted in organizing a series of bilateral meetings that brought together GJU with parties of common interest such as educational, training, and advisory programs that meet their needs and build bridges of cooperation with GJU network in Germany and Europe.

Dr. Alsharairi added that many participants in the conference praised the model of the University, which provides an applied educational outcome that suits the aspirations of everyone who wishes to start an educational journey in a country similar to the cultural system of his own, in addition to obtaining academic, linguistic training and qualification and acquiring acquainted closely with the German culture and language, in preparation for the German Year under supervision and institutional support.

During the conference, the delegation discussed means of cooperation and partnership with leading universities and training institutions in the Arab Gulf countries and international donor institutions.

On the other hand, members of the delegation met with some GJU graduates working in the UAE in the presence of Jordan Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, His Excellency Mr. Asem Ababneh.
