Istanbul- 13-14 February 2018

The President of the German-Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Manar Fayyad, participated in the third "Turkish- Arab Universities Conference" for Presidents  held by the Union of Arab Universities on 13-14 / 2/2018 in cooperation with Istanbul Aydin University.

The conference was held in Istanbul Aydin University in Turkey under the theme "Regional Challenges and Opportunities for Arab and Turkish Universities". The conference included several topics such as New patterns and trends in student and staff mobility, Renewed emphasis on international learning, New regions, new players in international education and New technologies for higher education.

Fayyad explained that GJU is a public university was founded in 2005 by a Royal Decree, in accordance with a memorandum of understanding reached between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany.

She also added that The University was modelled on the German applied-sciences model, characterized by their focus on putting knowledge into practice and on promoting knowledge transfer to play a significant role in promoting links between Jordan and Europe, particularly Germany.
