Delegates from the Budget Commission of the German Parliament visited GJU yesterday and met with its President Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, in order to develop mutually beneficial interests of supporting the university.

 

Prof Abu. Obeid welcomed the delegates, and said that GJU is always feeling grateful for its German friends who never stopped supporting the university.

 

The president gave a short brief about GJU, saying that  GJU which is the only binational university with Germany in Jordan  is crossing cultural bridges and making a difference not only in the areas of education but also improving the mentality of people and especially our students .  

 

He further stressed on the importance of the German exchange year for GJU students, since they coming back to their country with a remarkable and positive change.

 

For their part, the Budget commission delegates expressed their delight for visiting GJU Campus and learn more about this successful project.

 

The meeting was held in the attendance of Prof. Anton Mangstl, the Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. Dorothea Jecht , Director of International Office, Ms.Britta Kaehler, Director of Office for industrial Links, Dr. Jochen Pleines, Dean of SAHL,  Mr. Christof Muehlberg,  Project Office Director-Magdeburg, Dr.Michael De Jong, Director of Language Center,  Dr. Ala Al-Halhouli and  Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair.

 

The Delegation consisted of Mr. Alois Karl(CDU/CSU) Member of German Parliament , Ms. Doris Barnett (SPD)   Member of German Parliament, Mr. Michael Kindsgrab,  Head of Division Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Bianca Schulz  (Interpreter) and Mr. Ralf Schröer Deputy Head of Mission German Embassy Amman.
