The President of the German Jordanian University, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, visited Public Security Radio, where he was welcomed by Brigadier General Dr. Mutasem Abu Shattal.

Dr. Al-Halhouli and Dr. Abu Shattal discussed the aspects of cooperation in awareness programs and social projects that would serve the local communities in Naour District, Madaba, and the rest of the Kingdom’s governorates.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Directorate of Information and Community Police, Colonel Mahmoud Al-Sheyyab, the media spokesperson, Colonel Amer Al-Sartawi, also the Director of the Syrian-Jordanian Education Program, Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Thelal Oweis from GJU.

During the meeting, it was agreed to organize joint sessions to deliver initiatives, conferences, and workshops that serve national priorities.

Dr. Al-Halhouli participated in a radio episode of the Manarat program entitled (The Role of Educational Institutions in Protecting Youth from Extremism).

He affirmed the university’s belief in the role of the Public Security Directorate in achieving community peace and developing relations between institutions and members of society. He added that a series of programs for university students, employees, and the local community would be organized through the Community Peace Club in cooperation with the directorate to raise awareness and combat extremism, drugs, violence, rehabilitation, and social activities engagement.

Dr. Al-Halhouli pointed out that the university is a space for positive thinking, development, and dedication. Thus, both parties will improve the diploma and master’s programs in social work and develop a training plan for qualification in theoretical matters required to simulate the challenges of society, in addition to cooperation through the Syrian-Jordanian education program, which provides educational opportunities for Syrian refugees and Jordanian youth in less fortunate areas.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Al-Halhouli and the accompanying delegation toured the Media and Community Police Directorate and were familiarized with their various duties and departments.
